Thanks much, Ben!

I also had a Jur a few years back that I got to eat shrimp the same way as this one, but one day decided he didn't want shrimp, or any frozen food I offered him. He continued to refuse for 3 1/2 months, at which point I had to give guppies. He lives with a friend now and to this day eats only live...
Wow. I think this is a first for me, a very unique piece of data for all of us to be aware of.

Feb 7 update: the one (on the right) that took the shrimp first must have taken a few more pieces, especially after I soaked them in garlic. The other one on the left - I am not sure, likely has not yet judging from his flat tummy (I toss in the shrimp at night and leave). The 5 aros might be cleaning them up too.

Thanks, all. Mar 2 2013 update: the one that took the shrimp first continues taking it and eating well... at times. The other one has never taken it yet in my presence, "garliced" or not. I leave the shrimp pieces overnight and in the morning it is gone but I still am not sure he ever took it/much of it as his tummy is still flat every morning, not bulging. The other one or the aros might take it too. When I drop the shimp on his head, he bolts. Here is the one that ate well yesterday and a full tank shot (5 of the 6 irwinis are gone to a 1000 gal pond now; 1 smal irwini and 5 aros still there):

Both of yours have very nice colors for being so small TBTB. I'm quite impressed.

Thanks, again. Mar 22 2013 update is no different from the Mar 2 update: the one that took the shrimp (on the right) continues taking it but just a piece or two, only to a just notable tummy fullness. The other one (on the left) has never taken it yet in my presence but does not look emaciated or even too thin yet although it's been ~4 months since he had an assured filling meal... it actually looks a bit thicker than the one that takes shrimp. I leave the shrimp pieces overnight and in the morning they are gone but I still am not sure he ever takes it/much of it as his tummy is still flat every morning, not bulging. The other one or the aros might take the overnight shrimp too.

Jurence and tigs can go 2 months without food at 12" easy

I would give it a very big feed of what he likes and make a note of the date then no more live feeders for say 6 weeks but still offer prawn daily frozen de shelled the cheap type

If after 6 weeks he's still not eating the start again

Also leave some food in the tank over night as that's when they hunt more

Good luck
