My tank has cleared a bit... guess I'll have to wait for a couple more days until it clears up completely...

Are 4-5 inch RTGG worth $30??? Cause I saw a couple of these at a LFS and was wondering if this was a good deal??? Oh and they said it was a female

If they are in good condition then £30 seems reasonable

I agree with yanbbrox, thirty bucks aint half bad if it's got good color/ no damaged fins, etc..

The lowest price I've seen on RTGG from 3-4" is $20

Sure if you have a tank or pond big enough too handle them when they grow up. Though males are far better looking in most cases. One of my females rivals the males in color and contrast at the moment.

Hey Tequila, what kind of bulb did you switch to? :D

I want to use one over my male (13" right now)

It's a Actinic VHO Ultraviolate bulb as I recall. Makes my red parrots look 10X better than they did before. I actually like the way they look now so much so that I thinking about setting up a tank just for parrots.

It will be easy to tell the difference between cohazzard's fish before and after a bulb change if it happens, again the fish looks stunning already:)

Of course, because I'll tell you when and post before and after (oh yeah, and the fish will look orange/yellow)

I've been using a somewhat purple light over the tank and it makes him and the red sevs look good.

I just moved them to a different tank and I changed the light to a 1000k light. They look good, but will look 100x better when I get the actinic :)

Been following Lou's advise on the photo front but every time I get a good close up the glass is dirty, yes I do take that many photos:irked::
