Dude if I had the room, I'm sure that I could breed them. I just don't have that kinda space right now. And to do it just to be able to say I did it isn't reason enough to try.

It would be a interested question answered though, how much space does it take?

By try, do you mean attempt to recreate wild conditions for breeding because sometimes nature always seems to find a way;)

Here's a mates tank with his GG. He's had it from a little 4" baby, now it's around 20"!

I'm sure our Mr Grumpy would work his way through that tank in a few nights:irked:

It just goes to show that some ggs are a pain and other are pretty laid back.

Thanks for the video:)

Forgot to mention, sweetcorn is this weeks food of choice

My guys are just loving the walks in the local park that I do on the weekends, because they love the earthworms that I always return with. 30+~50+ worms in a weekend, what more could they ask for, earthworms and lettuce there just loving it.

Has anyone kept an RTGG with Kois in a pond cause if its possible I would want to do that :)

Water temp could be a problem, koi would be alright at the low end of the rtgg temp range but your trying to mix cold water and tropical fish so if it's been done it would be interesting to hear about it:popcorn:

It's done here... and successfully... then again, here is a tropical island where the water is always somewhat warm... heaters are rarely used here... except for discus...

Unless you want a black pipe or a canister filter it all happens on the isle of Loulou;)

It can be done just depends on the depth of the pond. As long as theres no chiller on the pond, it should be fine for RTGG's should be fine at not lower than 68F, mine deal with temp upto 95F in my tank during the summer months.

Carp/Koi on the other hand will start gasping for air at the surface if the water becomes too hot. But there are Asian Grass Carp in Florida that deal with the heat of Florida water ways, and theres Koi at a house down the street that live yr round in a small pond out front of the people house. It's 93F outside now and there just swimming and sucking the surface.
