GIANT gouramis

Wanted to put up some pics of my new baby before it gets big. All of you people with your giants on this thread are to blame for mine. Anything bad that it does, or my wife does to me because of it, is on your heads.

haha, im exempt cause im a newbie :D

newbie question: so only the EEGG and RTGG have the black spot near the tail? EEGG have teeth and RTGG have red fins? is it possible to have a GG with red fins and teeth?

the strange thing about my GG is that the spot comes and goes. the red on fins also does this.

i notice: when scared, the shade would be a dark grey. when happy, the shade would be a light grey. what i cant figure out is then its half dark grey and half light grey. anybody experience this with their GG? i will try to get some pics on this for a visual.

Generally, the spot will spread on RTGG and look like a mark EEGG will disappear with age but can be seen in some light.

As recently discovered on this thread GG have teeth, all internal(Istill say deluxe crushing pads but heh?) EEGG has external teeth on the outer lips, my george has got a few more recently I'll try to get a snap.

I'm not aware of a hybrid between the two, these things are hard to breed let alone cross breed in captitivy

Never seen red tail/fin AND EEGG type teeth. Tequillia swears there are teeth in his RTGG, they have ripped him up pretty good...

the strange thing about my GG is that the spot comes and goes. the red on fins also does this. Yup, basic GG mood swings, I've seen mine Almost Black, and also washed out with no spot...One thing is the spot doesn't move...

they can change the color alot, not really the base color just the tint...almost like if their blood pressure rises, the color get's darker...

Welcome to the wacky wonderful world of the GG...:screwy: :WHOA:   ;) :D
any where else in the animal world, a little Prozac would be the prescription given...

The fish in the bottom photo is a RTGG, this I'm positive of. I also don't believe that the two photos are of the same fish. This is only my opion
it has nothing to do with the coloration of the two fish ( my rtgg's change color the time, except the dominate male). But rather on the fins shape and size.
