Here are a few more pics that I found on my computer. Not sure if they will help or not. I don't currently have my camera and these pics are a few weeks old. Hence the scratched glass from when it was in my quarantine 55 gallon healing and waiting for the Bichir to find a new home. The dorsal fin is alot longer and flows to a point, but the bichir took a good inch off. It is growing back nicely and all of the bite marks have healed. As for the size question, I know the fish is at least 12 inches because it was having difficulties turning in the 55 gallon. Thanks for the effort guys! No matter what sex it is I'll always dig this fish. So much personality and very nice to look at. Thanks again!

Ok, for now I'll say female. But if the lower jaw starts to spread out, starts looking like a stream shovel then it's a male.

somehow it looks smaller then 12 inch for some reason.

does anyone have a full grown RTGG? i wanna see pics. i wonder how big they can get?

Oh yeah i had him a bucket while i was mixing the water for him i put the lid over the bucket so he wont jumped out, then i went to cook some noodles and i came back to check on him and he was out of the bucket, lucky for me he was only out of water for a bit which is why he has sand on his face.

hello phobull. ur monster looks tiny. i heard they grow pretty fast to 10-12 inches then slowmo from there.

Yeah mines still a baby =( i had a grey and pink b4 but then i finally decided to get a red tail as soon as i put him he started chasing the cigar shark which was 3 times his size i was surprised.

Don't be surprised if it kills the lot over night. Did you trade the pink in for the redtail, I think they cost a heavy price over there?
