GIANT gouramis

I just got a 10in GG about a week ago. I love him so much. His personality reminds me of a big goofy dog. He tries to nuzzle and play with my cat fish. My TSN was none too happy about this and so they got into a couple small scuffles. Now the GG knows better. He will still go over to the TSN corner once and a while and give him a quick nudge and then swim quickly to the other side of the tank like its a game. Doesn't seem like he's trying to be mean I think he want to be buddies. I also have a domino syno in there that rarely comes out of his cave and the GG will swim upsidedown trying to peak in at him. Its really comical:ROFL:

hello and welcome to the GG thread. great story. any pics of your GG? i cant get enough pics of GG :D

:) that georgina pulled through
:( that you have to let her go

hope she finds a good home!! if not, i wouldnt mind adopting her :D

luv the setup of your tanks. pics of the RTC?
No RTC, just making my point to the stocking police that quite a lot of people keep these fish and I doubt any will really see a decent size tank that is suitable.

She's all healed up, quite amazing considering the condition see was in, and she's started to hand feed again after trying to hide any time we went close to the tank.

I still think we are going to keep her for a month or so just so she can chill out before we move her on.

Thanks for the comments on my tanks, next time I post pictures I'll include a shot of the others.

Here she is all healed up:

gotcha on the RTC....

how many tanks do you have!!! your tanks are very well taken care of! and your fishes are amazing...

now i know who your refering to when you say fatty. i always thought fatty was your cat. one of the nicest oscar i seen so far. this is coming from a guy who hates oscars. didnt know oscars comes in that color. is fatty a shortbody oscar?

georgina is looking well, too bad you have to let her go. i think you should reconsider getting another tank so you can keep her. she is a rare EEGG!!!

my georgie got two new friend for the new tank last weekend during the house of sam meet. HotDog (endli bichir) and gary (snail). dont know if gary is going to make it since georgie thinks hes a pallet and been trying to eat him

saw two of the biggest and nicest GG at the meet. too bad i couldnt get a good pic of them since they dont come to the glass. wowwies, now i know why they call them GG  now i know i would need a bigger tank once georgie is full grown!

after the heatwave my tank been invated by green algae. does anyone know how i can get rid of them?

Thanks, I have no more room for another tank for Georgina, other wise I would get one for her. I just have the three tanks, now I've ran out of room I just buy more tanks and set them up next door;)

As for your algae problem the surefire way to get rid of it is to turn the lights off, wrap the tanks in towels and leave it for 48 hours. No light, no algae, it's a bit of an extreme way of dealing with it and there are other options such as reducing the time the lights are off etc. or you could try chems. Or build a scrubber:

I swear PCH is reincanated football player...A medium sized grape makes for a great soccer ball...I'll try to get a pic of her making her way from the end of the tank through the other fish...Nobody else eats the grapes, so she has a blast...

I tried to reply your pm, having problems so I'll do it in the morning:)

Georgina may have a reprieve, Mr's Y has given the go-ahead for another tank to replace the small grow out, same spec as George's. The only problem is it's been about 5-6 years since I've been in contact with the people who can get these trade, I got George's tank for £450 they are now £850 retail. I'll make some calls.....
