Not sure if u guys r familiar with salted fish? But alot of salted fish r made with GGs, the plain grey type.
And also, my wife is thai. The 1st time i showed her i wanted to keep a RTGG, her eyes almost popped out of their sockets when she saw the price on the tank in the LFS. She told me GGs r available readily in their markets in Bangkok n swear to me that if i were to buy that fish, she'll put it on my dinner plate the next day!
So now u see y i only have white GGs, apparently they dun have the white version in the market!

Now I wouldn't go around eating Oscars, because they just taste horrible. I used to run an aquaculture farm. I have to say I hated harvest time, but then I enjoyed the $$$. I see you perspective but the idea of eating a GG makes me feel all wrong

My 18" would make some nice filets. Something so mean can't possibly taste good though. She's eyeballing me right now as I type. Probably starving since I don't feed the fish nearly as often or as much as my gf does.
