How about a EEGG, an Aro and a Flowerhorn with a GT thrown in....it worked until they figured out that there wasn't enough room available in a 225g, then they started looking at each other as food...:screwy::naughty::ROFL:

When fish don't behave the way you would like them too, just have them for dinner, it works everytime - trust me on this one. I have never ever had another GG problem, since.

Ditto.

Porkchop is fine with the other fishies, with no aggression what so ever. i guess porkchop finally realized that Tom is also a GG and couldnt have that.

Not going to say I told you so(because I don;t think I did ;)), they just never seem to get on, a gg community tank must need to be so huge. Sorry to read about the troubles:

Post in the market place, careful follow the rules or the thread will get deleted, big MFK area near you so hopefully someone will pick him up.

I've been there with George and Georgina, didn't work, moved her to grow out worked for two weeks, then moved her back, he beat her up so bad that I didn't think she would make it one day out of nothing, nursed her back to health but had to let her move on to someone else. Sucks but you've got the fishes interests at heart.

Master T had 4 in a, I think and don't quote me on this. a 180g tank when they were all small, plenty of space but once they grew into monsters it just never worked, the males would always fight and all hell would erupt.

Still could be worse, planning on an arrow/gg tank in the not so distant future:nilly:

put it up here first to see if any GG lovers would want him. just want to find him a good loving home so i know he will be taken care of.

A very large tank, other than that theres no way to lower the aggression of any fish, especially a GG..When they decide they dont like a tankmate, you either remove it dead or alive, your choice..sorry but thats the bottom line with this species. It has been my experience that GG's do not like top feeders/swimmers such as aro's, they breath and feed from the top and anything swimming near the top is in their breathing/feeding territory, they will defend it against much larger fish.

I'm pretty sure that as the fish ages, aggression tends to be less

The only 2 ways i've found too keep GG/RTGG's with other fish is First: Keep them in pairs or greater numbers. So that they arebasically too busy watching another to be concerned with other fish. Or second choice and this is the one that works the longest and really is the easiest too do - Stir fry it, works each and everytime. Trust me here.

Oops there is a third way: get and keep fish that can be kept together, read up on the fish your buying before you buy it. Make sure that you can house it for as long as your willing to keep the fish. And always remember that while you may keep fish for your enjoyment, fish don't necessarily enjoy being kept in tiny glass, wood or plastic containers, that you think are large enough for them to spend there lives in. There is a reason fish are from different parts of the world and different bodies of water. So far I have yet too see a Monster tank that can take the place of a fishes natural home. that includes what his name's 52K gallon tank.
