in asia they are bred in ponds and if they are like the smaller goramis you might have to lower the water level it might be in Axelrods book jumbo fish hmmm gonna have to look

oh and the top pics is a 90 gal to give you an idea of the size and they are quite a bit bigger now

HEMI - I don't know if that's his, but actually CoHazard and I have been talking about butting heads to get these guys bred in the USA, and yes, that's what they look like 
santory- its in the book jumbo fish by Axlrod and its just a caption under a pic of a rtgg and the book is older so there not much else I can tell you as the book doen't give much in the way of info mostly his personal experiance with GG in asia

im not going to lie, seeing gouramis this big kind of creeps me out. but i gotta say, every time i see one in a LFS im always tempted..
