I just read the whole thread

I'm planning to buy a 180G but am concerned with it leaking/ cracking/ breaking. Is it safe to say that this will not happen with an acrylic tank? I want to be able to sleep at night lol.

Why is Acrylic considered better then an old fashion glass aquarium???
Is it just because it is less likely to break?
If so, a glass aquarium is not THAT easy to break if your careful, so why pay so much more?
IF YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE A VERY LARGE AQUARIUM IT IS BETTER TO USE ACRYLIC BUT GLASS IS BETTER ON SMALL ONES.

For me I plan on building my own acrylic tank soon 72" x 36" x 30" tall 337 gallons. The fact that I am still in collage makes acrylic a no brainier. I move 1 to 2 times a year and with the condition of alot of the houses if you dont put your tank on a slab it will prolly end up the.

well, I think "clearer" is not being used in the right contest.

glass has a greenish tint to it, acrylic does not.

they are both clear, but one has a slightly different tint to it.

and one scratches if you sneeze, fart or burp near the tank :)

Glass shatters when it breaks while acrylic doesn't.
