Acrylic has no advantages in "my case", weight was not a factor not with the size of my tank, 570g, 850 pounds I can handle moving that I have moved twice.

"But yes if I was going to go in to the 750 Gallon area, I would be getting Acrylic" I would not like it, but I would have to learn to live wtih it, and soon I would just become another Acrylic guy"

But weight is a Advantage for Acrylic, just not for me.

Glass shatters or can chip or crack. ya I know, but I have also seen allot of Acrylic tanks blow out on the forums lately too.

Acrylic has greater clarity, true, but I have white glass its more clear than normal glass. So Acrylic has no advantage there for me.

Acrylic scratches more easily than glass, No Advantage in Acrylic there for me.

What I'm really hoping for is a new Acrylic material to come out that does not scratch easily, now that will be the day I go out and buy a 1000g tank :)

It exists, it just cost a fortune (I assume).

I wonder if you could bond a thin piece of the scratch-resistant acrylic over the regular - hence saving a lot of money and still getting the resistance where you need it most. Not sure if it will skew the clarity though. Maybe in the near future.

ya I think it would work, but I think they still need more advances in the bonding process. And I guess its just a matter of time before it becomes more practical for the hobby. Good find!

Ok, this off topic, but what "acrylic" polisher do you all recommend?? I picked up a 110 Glass tank, and a 110 acyrlic tank, the acyrlic has some scratchs due to kids messing with the "magnet" scruber, and picking up sand while trying to "clean" the glass. I've seen some acrylic repair kits for like $80.... using a rotary tool to make it easier. Any recommendations?
