I got rid of my female Gold Saum, often incorrectly referred to as a GT, and bought 2 young males of roughly 10 and 11cm. I will grow them on for about 3 months and then select one to keep. The one was bred in Malaysia and the other in Singapore. Hopefully one of them turns out to be special!! Any thoughts on potential? 20160117_081152-1.jpg 20160117_075056-1.jpg
 
I thought they were Gt's.
I know andinoacara stalsbergi was thought to be the original GT but rivulatus was discovered first.When first discovered they were known as bloombergi and this was the original GT although later renamed andinoacara rivulatus.
Correct me if I'm wrong but that is my understanding of the true GT.

I think it's become so blurred over the years that there is a lot of confusion lol, my understanding was that the stalsbergi was always the GT; but that the Gold Saum has pretty much supplanted it as the GT now.
 
The Andinoacara Rivulatus is the Golden Saum. Note the black spot is in the centre of the scale whereas the Andinoacara Stalsbergi is the actual GT, also note that it's scales are ringed with black as in a net. Regardless everyone everywhere knows what they expect to see when a tank is labeled greenterror and it's a gold saum. Does it matter what's supposed to be what, I will still be calling a melanurus a Synspilum Aswell!-)

Percy, I can't see anything in those links that explains which one was the original GT.
I was always under the impression stalsbergi was the original GT until recently.
I'm not sure how to post a link on the forum but if you get the chance have a look at this page by Alf stalsberg
