Chris is right. Severums were not used to make blood parrots. However, I do believe theres gotta be at least 3 fish used to make blood parrots, or a lot of line breeding.

Calm down? Chris isn't wrong. MidasxSyn can make both. I'm not sure where the thread is, but theres a thread that shows someone breeding SynxRed Devil or Midas(Not sure) and the offspring came out to look very much like Blood parrots(Chris can you fill you in on this). Also, Severums cannot hybridize with CA cichlids. You're wrong. End of discussion.

@OP: Your pair won't have any babies. Its neat to keep them as it is but if you would like to see babies then you should separate them.

Wow! :ROFL: For starters if you were to learn the history of the Parrots then you would know the Blood Parrot didn't come first. There were a few fish that came before it such as the Red Mammon.

When you hybridize you don't get one type of fish from the mix, you get several and you get some that take a few tries at crossing to get. So when you cross Midas x Syn you could get Rose Queen, Red Monkey, something close to what you would call a King Kong Parrot, and many other misc fish. It took some line breeding/selective breeding to get the Parrots we see today. But the only fish used was Midas and Synspilum.

Indeed Midas was used and now I believe you get accomplish it using a Red Devil, I still believe Midas is the way to go to ensure a KOK on that little frame. Regardless good luck to everyone and their breeding projects.

No way buddy... lol cmon now... I think we all know who knows their stuff and who don't... I just can't stand these kids who name call and insist they know everything when in fact THEY KNOW NOTHING! lol this is why I stick to the friendly FHC forum where people respect eachother...
