Guess what kind of Reptile

Yup.. I'm still looking for a group of these frogs. I've worked with a few other Theloderma species.. trying to get a breeding group of gordoni together.

I believe Bushmaster got in a bunch of the less common Theloderma last spring or summer. I don't recall if T. gordoni was one of them.

here we go:

I'm too busy to look up the specific epithet at the moment. Is that one of those montane viper from Iran? I know they have the raised ocular scales but have never a picture of one.

So my guess is Iranian Mountain Viper. But that is a guess in the truest sense of the word.

Not one of my better typing attempts...

I forgot about this. I just attempted to confirm or reject my guess of Iranian Mountain Viper (Vipera albicornuta) but found little information. Thought I'd respond and see if we could this rolling again.

Could you post another head shot of the same species?

Never mind, I'm going to assume it's a pitviper and not a true viper. That doesn't really look like a pit on my screen so I assumed it was a Vipera spp.

Still, I'm stumped. I'm positive it's not a Mexican Horned Viper but I'm not left with much else. It looks to be some sort of montane species based on that picture.

Don't give the answer yet. Can you give a hint?

here is another shot of it as requested. You are on the right track...

I'm sure it's a species I've never seen a picture of before, but I knew that already. I see some similarities to Protobothrops jerdoni but of course the raised oculars rule that out.

Will you accept Protobothrops spp.? Lol.
