Thank you for your input Fallen_Leaves. I thought I'd ask a wider audience too:

Looks to me like clickbait?!
Nothing is impossible, just my gut feeling.

IDK why but GGG, our last of the original trio of gulpers, had been off for ~3 months, but it ended in ich, internal infection, and her passing. My only thoughts are in the order of decreasing likelihood:

- natural lifespan or too hard a life with me;
- our summer water temps 82-86F;
- malnutrition, even though her fish is well presoaked in vitamins and minerals, it's been a while since I stuffed NLS pellets inside her fish.

10yo 11 inches.

So sorry for your loss victor.

Catfish are definitely more prone to nutrient deficiencies than other fish, in my opinion. Just a month without stuffing pellets into my RTC's shrimp not only dulls its black and red colors but also makes it more inactive than usual.
That's the reason why i try to keep their diet as varied as possible.

The fish that's in the second video that is at the top of the tank. To me it looks like a catfish with butterflyfish wings. 1:10 mark

Do you have a vid of a tour of your entire fish room? From what I can see it looks amazing!
i didn't watch the vid, but depiction sounds like a freshwater butterfly fish. they're from Africa, are small, and surface dwellers. one of my favs actually.
