Your post is very hurtful by the way you are hurt! Options take care of yourself get an better medical hand treatment or medicine what happened to your mind did you do anything to the midas and festae cichlid? You should respect nature not to get bitten yourself!

What fish bit you btw is it an cichlid or an snakehead it can be badly and hurtful when I was stung by an shovelnose catfish but didnt bit me take care of yourself and also what are you doing when that happened?
It's was a cichlid that bit me. My Amphilophus saggitae Casper. He was around 7 inches or so at the time. After a couple bites I grew tired of it and started in tank netting him while I cleaned his tank.

I did water changes every three days, so he got to a point he was so used to being netted that he would just swim into the net "let's get this over with"

When you have a 12in Midas cichlid who is very territorial and his tank needs to be cleaned you do what you got to

Jex i tried the net thing as soon as i grabbed the net my guy goes off swimming a 100 miles an hour back and fourth then i got him in the net and he started splashing and banging against the glass i panicked and let him go afraid he was going to hurt himself

Casper was a lot younger when we started the netting, so not as much trouble as a 12in fish. You know now for your next aggressive fish, and can start at a smaller size.

Well as you know Kratos has tagged me a couple times, some hard enough to draw blood and others not so much. Never took pics as they weren’t anything major but I’m sure in the future as he gets larger it’ll be more of a problem😬

I also tried the net method, it works for a few minutes but then he eventually finds a way out and proceeds to go after the siphon or my hand lol

Some further guidance, you can't really see but the bottom of the net would be jammed into the sand. And the top of the net would be pinched into place by the tank lid. Also starting this when young helps as they are not as strong and by time they get big they will be used to it and not fight.

i wish i still had some pictures of the wounds but my first mid/devil would absolutely destroy my forearm during water changes. even though it was a male my wife named it janet for being a real *****. one of my all time favorite fish despite it kicking my ass

I had my 2' Armatus payara sink his teeth into my finger.
Got infected & I needed a full finger operation.
I will not get rid of my finger on that one cause I know it’s teeth can stitch up and injure it’s tarpon eye I hope you got fully recovered by your full finger operation and I wouldn’t keep two males and one female in the same time and I know it’s full long sabertooth teeth can injure both eyes against their battle here is the full vid of the payara that almost stitch it’s eye while feeding it.
