Help verifying if I got a Super Red (juvie, 6-7 inch)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This is with 100% certainty yeah? So that means I was duped. I’m getting an rfid reader. It’s outrageous my supplier knowingly sold me a rtg with a certificate for a super red. Fml
Yep. Juvenile RTG. Not a Red.

Yep. A juvie red would have red/orange color on the dorsal, caudal and anal fin. Your fish doesn't have that red/orange color on the dorsal fin. I also see faint thin gold rims around the scale that's starting to come in. A bit of gold specks around its face/gill cover as well.

Trust the breeder. Red arowana takes a long time before it peaks. Your patience will be rewarded. Godl peak earlier.

Just an update four months later, it’s about 8-9 inch now. Haven’t done any tanning, feeding MP and porpoise pellets, with the occasional frozen brine shrimp and blood worms. WC 10-15% every week. I can’t seem to lower the ph to 6-6.5 though, the tank has stabilized to 7.2 - 7.6. The scale rims look a lot more golden, but the light is throwing me off. Sometimes I feel the rims are pinkish gold. Towards the tail end some of the scales even have specks of purple. What do you guys think?

Did I say that? Looks like an RTG to me now. Nice looking fish.

Don't think 10-15% water change is nearly enough. Do think the PH of 7.2 is alright.
Not even a high back right? Fudge. You think 10-15% twice a week will be ok? That’s probably the best I can do atm.

Do you reckon there is still a small possibility it is actually a super red with ****e genes? Or it’s really leaning way toward rtg?

How much do those go for? Like 1/4 the price of an SR?

Here are some photos taken from afar. It so different when the rooms white light hits it. I think it’s worth a shot to get really white leds what say you? Or am I reaching?
