In these parts, we expect a few "really hot" days each summer, i.e. temps at or slightly above 80F. I think we have hit 85F on one or two days in the decade I've lived here. Typically, the "warm" months of July and August are still in the mid-to-high 70F's.
Right now we are in the middle of a beautiful spell of magnificent weather; nighttime lows are around 50F (a couple degrees below typical) and daytime highs are 70-75-ish, which is right about where expected. Morning coffee on the deck with the Hummingbirds and warblers. Deer in the adjacent pasture wearing their lovely cinnamon-coloured summer pelage. A just-fledged brood of Red-headed Woodpeckers (IMHO one of North America's most spectacular birds) clamouring for their parents to feed them. Fish dimpling the surface of the pond, dragonflies patrolling above. And summer attire of shorts/t-shirt/sandals for a couple months straight.
The only triple-digit temperatures seen around here are on a meat thermometer at the barbecue. But the actual air temperature...over a hundred...?
...nope, nope, nope, nope, uh-uh, nope, nope, nope, nope.........
