How aggressive are red terror being south american cichlids?

I have found this thread of particular interest as I have often contemplated adding a festea to my rivulatus set up.
My judgment has always told me bad idea.
As the fish can be found in the same location in the wild I often thought it could be a great addition. Do festea keepers here think it could have worked or was I right not to try?
My tank is 7x2x2 and houses1 male and 5 female rivulatus.

I think it would be a tougher situation because the rivulatus are mature, but ya very possible. I think that one would get picked on but if you added a group it could work, I think it would be interesting because the possibility is very high of pairing in a natural environment and if u have that kind of ratio of rivulatus they will probably end up spawning and if you have a spawn of Festae and rivulatus, unless they were on each end of the tank it might be risky. But if I were you, I would try it!Thanks for the reply MP_cichlid.
I was giving the rivulatus to my dad, along with the rest of the tanks occupants. My old man is actually ready to have them now.I was going to put my thorichthys in there,I may still do this.
As the time has come to part with them I am finding it difficult to proceed.
I just can't make up my mind.
If I do decide to keep them I may try a small group of festea and see how it goes.I would imagine it best to add them as fairly small fish as they are pound for pound more aggressive than rivulatus. I think I would start with 4 at around the 3 to 4 inch mark.
I would not be entirely comfortable trying this as I hate making bad choices and risking the welfare of any fish in my care. Having said that I am really tempted to try as the two species together should make a nice display.
When ever my rivulatus spawn it is always right at one end of the tank.They are also quite mild on the aggression front.
With my rivulatus larger size,it may just work?

it might, but if you give the rivs do your dad, i can't help but highly recommend that you get a group of festae growing out and get yourself a pair!
Yes they was my fish. Its a very old picture. I've still got the female red terror. I never removed the divider. The tank was only 5.5 ft with little decor. In the right setup, large tank and loads of rocks and wood it MAY! work
