this is for a smaller tank...Ive had my marineland penguin HOB filter for about 5 years and it works as good as it did when I got it 5 years ago. I've hadn't had to change anything in it and its in perfect condition.

20years + Eheim

One of my old Eheim filters 2217 was making a weird noise, so I took it apart and the ceramic shaft was broken.
I've had this filter for about 20 years and this is the first problem I have ever had with it.

I went by Big Al's today to see if I could find a replacement shaft for it and figured there was no way I would find one, but, they still make that model and had a replacement shaft in stock.

I checked out the price of a new 2217 filter and it is about half the price I paid for mine 20 years ago.

I'd say that's reliability :headbang2

Everyone keeps talking about the Ebo-Jager heaters. Is this the same company that makes Eheim Jager heaters or normal Jager heaters on dr.fostersmith.com? I only ask because there seams to be two different versions of the Jager heaters and I'm not sure which to get.

I finally retired my supreme aquamaster hob filter last year.ran for most of the 30 years Ive owned it.Uses as much electricity as the air pump that runs 70 sponge filters in my fishroom so it had to go.

New to the hobby, but wondering how long my very expensive Rena XP3 should expect to last?

Anyone have any longevity tales for the Rena? I spent quite a bit for it in my opinion, so hope it last at least 5-10 years. :feedback:

I know you can use these inline with a canister Filter. I also know you can use these integrated with all of the Rena Filters, but can this heater be used with any HOB filters? Can I set this up for instance on a Marineland Penguin 350? If anyone has tried this I would like to hear about your experience. Seems like a very good way to heat a tank quickly and efficiently.
