How Long Has Your Equipment Lasted?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've had this Tronic heater which I set at 78F over 5 years ago and never had to look at it again. Can't say the same for some of the Jager's i've owned

my eheim 2215 runs more than 6 years (52560hours no stop) and eheim 2128thermo professional filter(cant hear it even from 30cm) allmoust two years and work ideal !
thank You GERMANY.
agreed! the eheims are the best quality hands down :headbang2

Fluval 304 - 10 years and counting.

Fluval Fx5 - over 1 year, still new. We'll see.

I've got an AC50 on a 29 gallon tank which has been running since the tank was set up...probably 4 years at least. Its dead silent.

i have had several different makes of pumps and filters over the years but i have had an ehiem 2210 for 15 years now and has been the most reliable and provided the quality needed to be able to relax and enjoy my fish!
i will never buy another make as long as i have fish i will have an ehiem, if that sparks a brand war bring it on i rekon i`m backing the winner

I have had a fluval 304 run constantly for ten years now on a Saltwater 55 no maintenance no breakdowns. It survived running for 3 days with no prime (Grinding) While I went to a wedding out of town (I was 16 what can I say I just changed the media plugged it back in and left and something went wrong but it stopped moving water and the poor impellar ran on speeed for 3 days til I got home and primed it. Its still working now down in Monterey.

Also I have a diatomic ? Air pump that was 3rd hand passed down I believe its from the 70's as a web search doesn't even register these air pumps. It ran until last month and now I have a whisper 30-60 and love it its silent.

Also a kit heater that survived 17 years since my first aquarium(Turtle tank) . Survived a house fire and 17 years of abuse still ticking. Its on the shelf as of last month for a backup. I replaced all my filters with Eheim (Except the fluval 304) And all my heaters with visi therm stealth. It will be interesting to see the lifespan of these visi therm stealths.

Everyone keeps talking about the Ebo-Jager heaters. Is this the same company that makes Eheim Jager heaters or normal Jager heaters on dr.fostersmith.com? I only ask because there seams to be two different versions of the Jager heaters and I'm not sure which to get.

Eheim bought out Ebo Jager. Alot of people agree that the quality of the Eheim Jager is lower than the originals.

I have 6 Aquaclear 500 (110) that have been running for 6 years straight.
I have 1 Aquaclear 500 (110) & 1 200 (50) that have been running for around 15-16 years, so long I dont remeber exactly. I have never replace an impeller.

I have had Ebo Jager Heaters (old style) last 6 years.... They still worked great but I just got paranoid using old heaters and now I replace my heaters every 2 years.

mag drive pumps, asm scimmers, maxi-jet power heads, ebo-jagger heaters - all rule
rio pumps are crap when they burn out the can kill you whole tank!!!

I have a Fluval 300. It is 25 years old. It sill works. I currently use it as a vacuum for my pond and my tank. I just put the return into a garbage bin and pump it out with a sump pump. I attached a wooden pole to the suction hose to get it into the areas of the pond that hold the most dirt.

I have had 2 Marineland 400's on my 120 gallon for 1 decade now and now they are running about 3/4 of what they did brand new. I added a Marineland 530 cannister to it and the water stays crystal clear. I would recommend Marineland filters to anybody.
