How Long Has Your Equipment Lasted?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have 12 Aqua Clears of various sizes that have been running for at least 10 years and 4 or 5 for 15 years plus....continously other than cleaning of course. I think I might have changed an impeller or two.

I have 3 AC500's that I got back in either 91' or 93' and they all work perfectly today and have been in use since the first day. I think they cost me $35 each....
I have one extra thats never been opened or used....

I have multiple aquaclears also mostly powerheads & they work flawlessly; tried a penguin powerhead for a new tank(didn't have AC's, never Again!) Aquaclear is awesome!:woot:

When i turned 12 I got the 29 gallon walmart start up kit to replace my at capacity 10G. The Teta 30-60 power HOB that came with it is still running perfectly. No Bio wheel, and cartridges are harder to find anywhere BUT walmart (shudder). Ill be 21 in July, shes got almost a decade under her belt i suppose.

39 gal tank with eclipse 3 on it. have had it running non stop for 5 yrs and the bulb is still running like energizer! no replacements done at all.:headbang2

---I had a tank that i kept the same bulb in for several years, but over time it did dim out, i didnt realize it until i got a new one of the same type and WOW much brighter. Might be worth checking out, espescially if you have plants. Just got an eclipse 3 myself, glad to hear that have that kind of longevity.
