as you may know I;ve had my retic for a week now
hes 13 inch head to tipof tail
I;m conscious of keeping water tip op yet I;v also read I need to feed once or twice a day which is different to the way I;ve always fed my fish/predators once every twp days
what do you guys do and inwhat quantities?

cheers

Most of the time i feed my pair twice a day, just chuck in a bunch of various pellets in.
If my young/smaller male ray gets a fair meal, ill feed a smaller portion at night.

sometimes skip weekends (out of town)
50% water change every week

thats my system.

I just do one big feeding daily whenever I have time,
a bunch of pellets, usually whatever was on sale at the time i bought them, then 3-4 whole earthworms, maybe some shrimp or fish fillet if I run out of worms. Fast for a day every week to be sure im not overfeeding. 50% wc every 2-3 days, again whenever I have time.

every other day or so

I feed once a day and skip a day about every 6-7 days mainly because of staying out late.

wow i cant believe what im hearing

i feed all my rays twice a day, and 3 times a day on weekends. if i skip a feeding they get so hungry they start biting eachother :D

yeah I was never a believer in overfeeding or even feeding too often. I actually only feed the majority of my tank twice a week their mixed shrimp, tilapia, and pellet diet. In my big tank I have been throwing about 1/4 lb of blackworms to keep food in their (mostly black rays) stomachs but keeping them on the more hungry side till they start pounding the shrimp and stuff more aggressively then ill back off the worms each day. The small tigers I have I feed everyday though but just once a day. I could be wrong with what I do but it has worked for almost 5 years now I have been keeping rays. Also if my tank was just primarily rays I would feed them more often but the bass are too aggressive and foul the tank too bad too fast if I feed more than I do. Working on adding filtration now
