I hope it does turn out to be an Armatus. There is something about the jaw that says its not a scomb. The spot however does suggest it's a scomb.

Still scomb do get as big as >100cm Seen some big ones too.
Most important is you like your fish. I also ever try to find armatus in scomb.
As there are case before armatus found in scomb batch.

I really beleive scombs don't get larger the 12" even in the wild. All of the large fishing shots you see are actually Armatus. If you have pics of large scombs I would love to see them. Thanks.

im w u. the biggest scomb i ever saw was at shedd aquarium, it was about 12 to 14 inch and it looked kinda old. and it was in a huge tank...

i put a divider in the tank and moved him there.
the space is so big for a tiny tiny fish...cant get pics cause of all the bubbles spraying out.

i think ive actually seen pics of big scombs before.
they were from a fishing website or something.

Could be worse though, I lost one to a Marble. After eating the Armatus the Marble turned around and died on me.
