LETS SEE THEIR TEETH!!!

1st pic: The Piranha Teeth
2nd pic: The Pacu Teeth

Note that razor sharp Piranha teeth is triangular-shape used for slashing, tearing and ripping meats while the pacu teeth is rounded squared-shape almost like human teeth used for grinding and pounding vegetable matter fruits and even nuts.

Great page, although if i had to move to a southern state.... i was going to try to pass my piranha's off as pacu's if it came down to it. and this doesnt help me hide... thanks a lot...
j/k
it is really great. but i do think the pacu has some major gingivitis...lol.

Easy way is to have a look at the lower lip, even juvenile piranha will have a protruding lower jaw that is easily noticible, also lower lip tends to be thicker then top. Don't pay much attention to the colour of the fish as a determining factor between pacu and RBP as juvenile red bellies differ in colour.
