Dude, your tanks are literally insane. Your tanks are bigger than some peoples apartments!! Really awesome, I cant imagine having tanks that size and such awesome fish. I have to ask though, how in gods name do you fund this?? Not to pry, but this must cost a fortune!! And one other question, why do you only feed once a week? Correct me if Im wrong, but that seems a bit infrequent, despite the very large quantity of food. Im sure you know better than me though, but why not twice or three times a week? Just wondering, O Might Fish God!
I feed once a week because these are adult predatory fish.
Babies need to be fed more often. Once they are adult, once a week I feel is closer to nature.
People often ask for updates on my fish. They don't realize that my fish are the same year in year out in the 15k. Almost all the fish are almost 10 years old or they are older. This is because I don't overfeed them. I don't rush their growth.
In the 52k I do have to feed the arapaimas more often because they are babies. They are only 2 1/2 years old and between 54" to 60" long. They need to be fed every second or third day. There are lots of barbs, cichlids etc to snack on if they are smart enough to catch them if they are hungry in between meals from me.
Having kept big fish for many years this is my feeding schedule. It works for me.
Other good hobbyists on this site feed different schedules and also have success.
I also keep track of what is fed, on what day to all my tanks.
Sorry the pic of the Myleus schomburgki is out of focus but the breeding colour is not.
