Here is what the mackeral I feed them look like out of the freezer. The fish are generally between 12" and 17" long.
They come in 25 pound or larger boxes. I break them up on the concrete garage floor then repackage them into bags of 4 to 8 fish in each and then put them back into the freezer.
This way they are easier to thaw out when needed. I place them on cutting board trays and cut them up about an hour into their thaw. This way they are still partially frozen and don't fall part as easily in the tanks.
I have constant water flow into the tanks so the oil from the fish is removed by the swimming pool overflow almost immediately.
