thank you for sharing your pictures people like you add so much more to this hobby i noticed a picture of a clown trigger (Balistoides conspicillum) one of my favorite salt water fish i was wondering how maney salt water tanks you had and what you have and if you had any pictures thanx again and your tanks and fish are amazing
I've always liked the clown trigger also. I have only 4 marine tanks and very few fish. The tanks are each 120 gallons. I have a honeycombe eel in one, and just a variety of small fish in the other 3 (including the clown trigger).

Amazing as always!
Out of curiosity, what is the smallest tank you have?
I have a variety of tank sizes from 2 gallons to my big ones and keep small fish like celestial pearl danios and bettas to the big fish.

The black shark (Morulius chrysophekadion) 26" TL has been up to his old tricks again. As you might recall I had mentioned how he had killed a 5' 51/2" arapaima and 3 red tail cats (3 to 4 and a half feet) back in 2003/4 period. Three hobbyists got in the 52K and caught him a year or two later. Since then he was kept in a 225 each winter and put in a 16 x 8 pond each summer.

I really felt sorry for him and thought since I removed all stingrays from the 15K, I thought he would be safe with the smaller fish in this tank since he was now in the 18th year in my care.

He was fine for a few days, except for killing my old 22" TL Dovi (Herichthys dovii -the Wolf cichlid) the first night in the tank. It was unusual because he normally chews for a few days on the skin and protective film on a fish and then they might die from the number of wounds he causes. I think the Dovi just died from a heart attack while fighting the bigger shark.

The Shark I bought as a baby about 2" long from Marine Resources (Sean Wilson) Mississauga Ontario in 1992. The Dovi I bought from Scot Goddard at AA Aquarium on Hamilton Mountain, Ontario in 1996 as a juvenile.

A week after the Dovi was killed I noticed the Shark fighting with several Osphronemus laticlavius and a Osphronemus goramy. The Laticlavius had many scales missing but they were holding there own and the alpha male was actually chasing the shark at times. Then I noticed a few days later the Hemibagrus wyckii (Mystus wyckii) the crystal eyed catfish having a wicked fight with the shark. It ended a draw and they just kept about 20 feet from each other. Then the tank went cloudy and I discovered one of my arowanas was missing. It appears the shark killed a Scleropagus jardini

I asked for help catching them from a local aquarium club and Linc and Joe came over and caught the shark for me. While catching the shark they came across a dead Cuban gar which the shark had stripped all the scales off and killed.

Smaller fish under 3 feet normally just get eaten by the other fish. Large fish I take to friends with farms and they put them in their manure pile with a tractor.
