definantly not a red bay snook. The spotted pattern and body shape is that of a Jag

ALSO the Pattern of a SNook :)

Ok, you all gonna hate me for this but I no longer think its a regular bay snook...

Here is a thread with pics of mine: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51058

Looking at your fish sieways, it has a massive head with short yet powerfull jaws (just like a jag). Its eyes are positioned more forward, and its dorsal is shaped just like jags (snooks have theirs like p-bass -- with a typical dip in the middle, almost as if its being devided into two). Plus, bay snooks have dorsal and anal fins with no prominent tips -- both are rounded regardless of the gender. Also, while the markings are VERY similar to those of a snook, this female has more markings than a dominant snook male. Quite unusual, unless its an exceptional specimen.

I now tend to believe that it is either a slightly deforemed snook or a cross between snook and a jag. Regardless, its a beautiful specimen, and if given that the price permits, I would have snatched it right away :headbang2

Nice pics, your snooks are more in line with their typical shape, etc., but the one in question is still a snook. If there was any jag in it, then there would be likely be a difference in pattern or color, maybe even look more like the "natural" phase of the snook. (I know the reds are found in the wild too).

One more thing... Those of you who know bay snooks, look closely at the lips of this fish. Clearly, even though they are retracted, these jaws are not protrussive. At least not nearly as protrussive as those of a snook! Again, I draw a conclusion that this is not a pure petenia splendida
I agree...It is has to be a hybrid containing Jag and Snook. It has the Jag's head, Snook's colors, and a cross between the bodies of the two fish, the body is not very thick like a Jaguar but more like that of the snook.

I have both fish and this is a very cool specimen! You should buy it!:headbang2

It's a Gold Jaguar. Albino Managuense.
It's not albino, the eyes are black.

Just thought of another possibility... How big is this fish? From the pictures it looks nicely sized yet there is no mentio of its actual lenght (or is there?). Has anyone ever seen an OLD female snook? Many fish grow "sideways" as they mature, perhaps snook's shape distorts to resemble a jag? I dunno, just a crazy idea...
