this is a hard one, like others have said. it's definitely not a snook like Stab and Oddball said, the jaw structure is wrong and so is the color actually. Red Bay Snooks are usually a pinkish color not orangish/yellow like this fish.
it definitely has a lot of jag in it but I'm not convinced it's a pure jag. It doesn't really look thick enough for it's length though I guess this could be due to lfs malnutrition.
I'd have to say it's probably a hybrid. Could be a cross of a snook and a jag or heck it might even be a cross between a red devil and jag. I've seen pics of RD/jag hybrids that had the exact body shape of a RD with a jag color pattern so it's highly possible such a hybrid could go to the other extreme and have a jag body shape/pattern with RD color.
The only way to know for sure would be DNA testing which could be done with some fin clippings, but I don't know if any institution capable of such testing would be willing to do so for a casual hobbyist with a single odd looking fish and even if they were willing there's no telling how much such testing would cost.
