pretty cool.... can't seem to get the juvenile settings working and what not.
Here is my stock in my 55gallon
5 x Iridescent Sharks
2 x Pictus Catfish
1 x African Brown Knife
1 x Common Pleco
1 x Freshwater Clam
3 x Pond Snails (not sure what kind.... just bought 3 out of a store
Warning: Iridescent Shark is not recommended for your tank - it may eventually outgrow your tank space, potentially reaching up to 36 inches.
Warning: Pictus Catfish will become too big to co-exist with Pond Snail.
Note: Common Pleco needs driftwood.
Warning: Common Pleco is not recommended for your tank - it may eventually outgrow your tank space, potentially reaching up to 18 inches.
Warning: Common Pleco will become too big to co-exist with Pond Snail.
Recommended temperature range: 22 - 26 C.
Recommended pH range: 7 - 7.5.
Recommended hardness range: 10 - 15 dH.
Your tank is too small - it will require massive amount of frequent water changes per week!
Your aquarium stocking level is 542%.
Your tank is seriously overstocked. Unless this setup is temporary, you should consider a larger tank.
It says my tank is overstocked by 542%, however, 3 of my ID Sharks are juvies, and my 2 Pictus are also Juvies.
What I do is when my fish get too large I give them to friends that have larger tanks, or put them up on Craigslist to rehome. 3 of my ID Sharks were rehomed a few weeks ago, as well as 2 Columbian Catfish I had. I decided to try the Pictus Catfish this go around and purchased 2, along with 3 new ID Sharks. I love the Columbians but with the Pictus I might actually be able to keep them because they won't grow out the tank. If they do well in the tank for a few weeks I'll probably add a few more.
I have the African Brown Knife on CL right now, he's about 7-8" now. My 2 Adult IDs are about 5 and 6 inches. The Pleco is about 4-5 inches. Once my ABK gets rehomed, I am going to try a pair of Apistogramma Cacatuoides Cichlids aka Cockatoo Apisto.
Debating on getting a juvenile to small Black Ghost Knife. I know they can get quite aggressive. It doesn't say on AqAdvisor that when I add a BGK to the list it should have any other problems than tank size, which I would either upgrade a tank, or rehome him in the future. Do you all think adding the Apistos in the tank is a bad idea? Mixing a BGK with them all? I'm more worried about the BGK attacking my juvie IDs, although I have minimal problems with the ABK. He does do some fin nipping but has trouble catching them.
Any suggestions?
