This is incorrect (what I highlighted in yellow). I know GG's can get to at least 30", but I don't know what their maximum is. Also, if the tank is 2' wide, why is it saying that an 18" fish would be too big for it?
The app by default, is more conservative. It's looking for a tank size that is at least 4 times greater in length and 1.5 times in depth. I guess your depth is ok but length is not long enough.

Perhaps 4x for the length is too generous for this species?

Oh and I took your note on G Gourami size. Will update it soon. Thanks.

Agree or disagree?

Yeah, I disagree with the warnings. The info there is a bit on the conservative side. Anyway, I've never had any problems with those fish being together, but then that's just my experience.

Here's how I would like to setup the 80gal I just got:

Selected species:

2 x Needlenose Gar (Xenentodon cancila)
2 x Slant Nose Gar (Ctenolucius hujeta)
5 x Silver Dollar (Metynnis argentus)
2 x Pictus Catfish (Pimelodus pictus)

Total selected: 11 fishes.

Recommendations/Warnings/Suggestions/Notes:

Warning: Needlenose Gar is not recommended for your tank - it may eventually outgrow your tank space, potentially reaching up to 12 inches.

Recommended temperature range: 75.2 - 78.8 F.
Recommended pH range: 7 - 7.5.
Recommended hardness range: 10 - 15 dH.

Your aquarium filtration capacity is satisfactory.

Your aquarium filtration capacity for above selected species is 108%.
Recommended water change schedule: 35% per week.
Your aquarium stocking level is 120%

Disagree with the warning, though.
