True! We're all entitle to express our opinion. We're also entitle NOT to express our opinion. Thus, I don't owe an explanation! Really, what's the better reason than that's how I like to keep my fish? Land is expensive everywhere, and I'm not going to use it as an excuse. I'm a true mfk, not just because I added "jdm" to the title Just like you said, water is clean, and fish look spectacular!xander;3858889; said:danny, i don't see how "JDM" is a reason for cramming so many fish in a tank..in japan, and many cosmopolitan asian countries where land is incredibly expensive, the JDM "style" came about not as a choice, but due to space constraints. i'm just wondering if the op has a reason for wanting to add so many pbass into the tank, other than to fit into the jdm "style"...i mean if anyone else were to have a tank that cramped, everyone flames him for overstocking, or having too small a tank. but add "jdm" to the title, and suddenly he is a true mfk? i don't buy it.
ps: jlnguyen74, i'm not busting anything on here, i'm simply curious to if there was a reason for the heavy stocking. as i said, i'm in awe of how you can keep your water clean, and the pbass look spectacular. just posting my own opinion. we're all still entitled to one right?
definately agree with the last bit. i never asked you to explain yourself, was just curious as to if there was something beneficial about keeping pbass that way. kudos again on keeping them that healthyjlnguyen74;3859002; said:True! why dont you read the whole thread before running your mouth. he says he already has a 500g tank ready for these guys.jlnguyen74;3858781; said:Tank is 225-gal. Got a 500-gal for them, but I've been so busy to set that one up. Three are 10", most are at 11"-12", and two or three of them at 13"+.
i have read the thread. and i'm in no way running my mouth. where exactly, on this thread, have you seen a reply from me that shows i have but the utmost respectful for the op's ability to keep his water clean and his pbass healthy? i know he has a 500g waiting to be set up. it is not currently ready...surely if you are going to tell me to read the whole thread before running my mouth, you should read the thread, or type out your responses carefully first.Dragon Hunter;3859163; said:why dont you read the whole thread before running your mouth. he says he already has a 500g tank ready for these guys.

secondly, what does my question have to do with the op having a bigger tank for them or not? his pbass are individually not too big for his current tank. so even if he didn't have a bigger tank, i still would have the same question, which was why he would have so many fish in a there. in fact, if you read his responses clearly, you would see that the op has cleared it up by saying he just likes it that way...no where does he say that he's going to be moving them in the 500 asap bla bla...
my initially post meant no offence to the op. i took the time to ensure my questions and statements did not come off offensive to him. he has taken it lightly, and has even responded to my questions rationally...any possible rational reason for you to get defensive in his place escapes me.

don't you think it's true? i see so many people going ga-ga over being a "true mfk"...or "taking it to the next level" when they see a tank fully packed with expensive, rare fish. someone else packs his tank with common fish and the tank is suddenly considered overstocked. imo being a true monster fish keeper has nothing to do with what you keep, how much it costs or how many you have...it's all about how well you keep it. i think a lot of people are missing this point nowadays.
edit: i had my thoughts wrongly expressed
tell you honestly, when i first opened this thread i was not thinking of him being a "true mfk" or whatever. when i initially posted i was prepared for an open flaming session from the op...but his calm, simple response has gained JL my respect as a person...doesn't really matter that we disagree on the methods of fish keeping...
i personally would prefer my fish to have more space and environmental stimulation thou. is there a reason for cramming so many fish in the tank?
yeah, i personally would. so? if you take the time to calm down and see i'm not flaming him or anything...you'd see an actual question in that statement that the op replied to...is it not possible for two people to have different ideas about how how something qualifies as "good", and yet respect each other at the same time?
