danny, i don't see how "JDM" is a reason for cramming so many fish in a tank..in japan, and many cosmopolitan asian countries where land is incredibly expensive, the JDM "style" came about not as a choice, but due to space constraints. i'm just wondering if the op has a reason for wanting to add so many pbass into the tank, other than to fit into the jdm "style"...i mean if anyone else were to have a tank that cramped, everyone flames him for overstocking, or having too small a tank. but add "jdm" to the title, and suddenly he is a true mfk? i don't buy it.

ps: jlnguyen74, i'm not busting anything on here, i'm simply curious to if there was a reason for the heavy stocking. as i said, i'm in awe of how you can keep your water clean, and the pbass look spectacular. just posting my own opinion. we're all still entitled to one right?
Not everyone can have land and money to build a massive pond like you.:grinno: I don't always agree with his style of fish keeping but as you can see his fish are flawless looking. I'm sure this is just a temporary tank until he get around to a bigger tank. JL does not always have an explaination for everything. He does things just because HE CAN!

i don't...my biggest tank is a 225 as well...yes his fish are flawless indeed. why is everyone missing out on the main point of my initial posts...just wanted to know if there was anything beneficial about having so many pbass in a single tank...if i were here to run my mouth or whine about the way he keeps his fish, i would have done it long ago...

I mistaken you for TLKM.... The benefits are saving space and consolidating into one tank rather than having a rack full of tanks. An added benefit is to p*ss of traditional fish keepers that say it cannot be done or shouldn't be done. It's just all a matter of preference. Until people see a fish as a pet on the same level of cats and dogs then nobody from the government really care how fish should be kept. You see animal cruelty law for dogs and cats but nothing for fish.

I think he's callling you out Joey. I think it's time for a come back!:grinno:
No come back for me =-( That's what burned me out, was my PBASS...lol

As much as I love to see all them PBASS in that tank reality eventually will set in when the bioload bomb blows up. For anyone who's kept PBASS for a period of time will know how much they eat & ****. Not to say that you can't make it work, just envolves a whole lot of maintenance and pristine water conditions on the keepers part. It's not one of those, "O'...I'll change the water next week" type of thing. PBASS are prone to HITH so water conditions has to be pristine. Defitnitly a challenge but without challenge there is no satisfaction. I was satisfied however got burnt out because of all the up keep. I had no time to enjoy my fish because I kept worrying about the feeding and maintenace. Being married a/3 kids my schedule was and still is hectic. That is why now I can sit back and enjoy everyone else's collection because there is no up keep on my part..lol

Also, I was one who loved to push the envelope. It's never a right or wrong thing in my opinion, just a preference.

i have read the thread. and i'm in no way running my mouth. where exactly, on this thread, have you seen a reply from me that shows i have but the utmost respectful for the op's ability to keep his water clean and his pbass healthy? i know he has a 500g waiting to be set up. it is not currently ready...surely if you are going to tell me to read the whole thread before running my mouth, you should read the thread, or type out your responses carefully first.

secondly, what does my question have to do with the op having a bigger tank for them or not? his pbass are individually not too big for his current tank. so even if he didn't have a bigger tank, i still would have the same question, which was why he would have so many fish in a there. in fact, if you read his responses clearly, you would see that the op has cleared it up by saying he just likes it that way...no where does he say that he's going to be moving them in the 500 asap bla bla...

my initially post meant no offence to the op. i took the time to ensure my questions and statements did not come off offensive to him. he has taken it lightly, and has even responded to my questions rationally...any possible rational reason for you to get defensive in his place escapes me.
hey xander to answer you he does have a 500 gal waiting for them but your asking whats the reason for the cramed in there , been over to his place couple times and he also has a 600gal but i think the reason he does not have these pbass in there is because and trust me when i tell you this, those pbass would be feeder fish for the ones in the 600:naughty:

To some, being a "true monster fish keeper" is just showing the forum how many $$$$ worth of the newest fish fad they can cram into their tank.

However, IMO, fish keeping means actually keeping fish for a long period of time in a healthy environment. You guys keep saying how he has a 500 gallon waiting for these fish, but a 500 will be WAY too small for that many full grown bass. These fish get so big and lightning fast. They need a lot of space. I think anyone who has seen several full grown pbass in person realizes how much space they need, and anyone who cares about the fish would not think about cramming all those into a 500, let alone the tank they are currently in.

Oh well, to each their own. I know this post will get a lot of the "JDM" lovers all worked up, but oh well, we all have different opinions. Like I said, for some it is about the fish having, and showing how many bills they can cram into a glass box; rather than what MFK should really be about, which is fish keeping. I wonder how many of these fish the OP will even have in a year.
