thats ridiculous an i dont mean that in a good way. theres no point to have that many fish in one tank they barely have room to swim. sure u can keep them all healthy in that small of a space but it has to be stressful on the fish . lets put it into perspective as a human space wise. if forced to, provided they feed you, flush the toilet once per day, and provide you with adequate oxygen, you could live indefinitely in an airplane bathroom. It would not be much of a life, not very comfortable, and you would probably suffer health issues from it after an extended period of time, but it could be done but why? just my 2 cents

That would be very uncomfortable indeed... You aren't actually comparing jlnguyen's tank with those circumstances, though, are you? That would be silly.

i have read the thread. and i'm in no way running my mouth. where exactly, on this thread, have you seen a reply from me that shows i have but the utmost respectful for the op's ability to keep his water clean and his pbass healthy? i know he has a 500g waiting to be set up. it is not currently ready...surely if you are going to tell me to read the whole thread before running my mouth, you should read the thread, or type out your responses carefully first.

secondly, what does my question have to do with the op having a bigger tank for them or not? his pbass are individually not too big for his current tank. so even if he didn't have a bigger tank, i still would have the same question, which was why he would have so many fish in a there. in fact, if you read his responses clearly, you would see that the op has cleared it up by saying he just likes it that way...no where does he say that he's going to be moving them in the 500 asap bla bla...

my initially post meant no offence to the op. i took the time to ensure my questions and statements did not come off offensive to him. he has taken it lightly, and has even responded to my questions rationally...any possible rational reason for you to get defensive in his place escapes me.
Dang! I really need an explanation now! :nilly: By saying I like it that way, I meant I like to keep fish in group, the more the better. I don't like a giant tank with one or two fish, and wait for it/them to max out the tank. And what the point of getting a big tank, and not moving the fish in there asap? :grinno: I don't like to buy a tank and let it collect dust. I want it well hydrate, and stocked with my favorite fish!!! :headbang2 It's just that I've been occupied with things that are more important, so I don't have time to get it running... :nilly:

No come back for me =-( That's what burned me out, was my PBASS...lol

As much as I love to see all them PBASS in that tank reality eventually will set in when the bioload bomb blows up. For anyone who's kept PBASS for a period of time will know how much they eat & ****. Not to say that you can't make it work, just envolves a whole lot of maintenance and pristine water conditions on the keepers part. It's not one of those, "O'...I'll change the water next week" type of thing. PBASS are prone to HITH so water conditions has to be pristine. Defitnitly a challenge but without challenge there is no satisfaction. I was satisfied however got burnt out because of all the up keep. I had no time to enjoy my fish because I kept worrying about the feeding and maintenace. Being married a/3 kids my schedule was and still is hectic. That is why now I can sit back and enjoy everyone else's collection because there is no up keep on my part..lol

Also, I was one who loved to push the envelope. It's never a right or wrong thing in my opinion, just a preference.
It's not about pushing the envelope :grinno: That's not my type! :grinno:

To some, being a "true monster fish keeper" is just showing the forum how many $$$$ worth of the newest fish fad they can cram into their tank.

However, IMO, fish keeping means actually keeping fish for a long period of time in a healthy environment. You guys keep saying how he has a 500 gallon waiting for these fish, but a 500 will be WAY too small for that many full grown bass. These fish get so big and lightning fast. They need a lot of space. I think anyone who has seen several full grown pbass in person realizes how much space they need, and anyone who cares about the fish would not think about cramming all those into a 500, let alone the tank they are currently in.

Oh well, to each their own. I know this post will get a lot of the "JDM" lovers all worked up, but oh well, we all have different opinions. Like I said, for some it is about the fish having, and showing how many bills they can cram into a glass box; rather than what MFK should really be about, which is fish keeping. I wonder how many of these fish the OP will even have in a year.
And what make you think that I will stop at a 500-gal tank? What make you think that I haven't seen any full grown bass, or not realize how much space they need? Do you think I just wake up yesterday with the tank full of p-bass, and start taking pictures to "show off?" :screwy:

Now that's ridiculous!!!:ROFL::ROFL: May I ask if you have ever kept a single p-bass yet?

i know what you meant Jl, i was just pointing out to another member that that(the like for keeping fish in large groups) was the reason for the stocking, and not that you were going to, or were too busy to set up a larger tank or whatever.;)

all the fish look good but theres not art to it.. no appeal. may i suggest some quality T5 lighting of the mized 10,000K and blue actinic variety? also a couple of peices of driftwood might look cool. it just seems to me like a giant holding tank.

dont get me wrong... im not bashing... the fish all look great and well cared for i just think the tank lacks something....

To Angler, scarteam, and other whose major concern is keeping fish healthy, I have a simple question for y'all.... What do you have at this moment in case of a black out? Post a picture with current date stamped to back up your answer! ;)

Actually, I have a 5-ft single T-5 bulb hanging on top of the tank. I'm not good with scaping, have no art bone in me (couldn't even take a decent photo :grinno:), so that's how I like my tank... When I set up my 500-gal, I may have driftwood, and may be substrate, but not this one, my giant holding tank! :D
