And HC is what?

HC stands for Hemianthus callitrichoides which is a really tiny foreground plant that requires a good amount of light and can be quite the pain to plant.

your tank is hottt

thx!

thanks bass. yeah you should get one! this is a good way to go if you start getting bored with regular tanks. never a dull moment with planted tanks and youll always be kept on your toes. its intriguing because your trying to maintain a tiny little ecosystem and its a delicate balance between all the components.

if this works out, i think ill try a reef tank one day

VERY VERY soon my friend. Working out the details of the filtration now, it's a RR tank, but I can't use a W/D with the CO2 (that'd be a HUGE waste) so, I'm going to plumb my Cascade 1000 to the overflow and return. Hitting up home depot this weekend for the parts. Once that's done I'll be switching things over from to 40 to it, no need to worry about cycling the tank because the Cascade is in use now on my 125 and has been for 6 months constanly, so I'm sure there's plenty of BB for the little guys in this tank, using the same substrate and driftwood. Then I can work on the CO2 system. Until that get's up and running I'll be adding the easier plants. Once it's up its game on :D

I might actually start a little emersed growing project of my own in a 10 gallon and make a nice chunk of carpet to put in the 72. Use lava rock and plant substrate mixed, it should be easy enough to pull it all out together like a peice of sod and lay it in the 72. Hmmmmm

Looking great so far.Cant wait to see it once all grow in.
