Live Food--- I would be cautious! Make sure you ask the previous owner to see what kind of food they fed them. Sometimes introducing live food might not go well during the digestion part.

Awesome fish! They look very very nice!

I suggest tinfoil barbs are dithers.
Thanks...I'll check.

As for dithers im thinking tinfoils and or con's...but id rather the TFB.

They are diligently moving all the gravel from around there Luv Tub and going in and out of it.

that sounds good. I was going to suggest a black background.

I would get some laminated construction paper and tape that on the back. A very dark blue, turquoise, or black would be great. Being that it is in your officer, using laminate allows you to change quickly and easily to match any future changes you might make. Plus you don't need to worry about drying, etc....

True but theres nothing like a painted on background if you ask me...sharp crisp deep color. Unless you make a natural one. I could layer the back with corkbark but that takes away from the 18" depth

Beautiful fish bro. I think adding dithers is just sort of a bonus for breeding tanks. If you ask me, if you want to breed them, then make that your priority and forget about other fish. Other fish can cause stress and make the pair edgy and they may eat their eggs, or other fish might eat the festaes' eggs. Other fish also add to the bioload - which I know isn't much of a concern but the pair should be #1 priority IMO.

If you get lucky like some of the other members, then dithers may work out. TFB's will work for a while, but believe me when I say they get huge. I have two in my 125g that are both over 13 inches long. RH silver dollars might be a better choice because they don't grow quite as fast, and don't get as large, but are a bit hardier than your typical SD...

My personal opinion..... Paint the back black, get some nice natural colored sand, and add some nice large pieces of driftwood and slate. It can look nice, and be a great breeding tank. :D
