Flowerpower: I'm trying to reply to your PM but your inbox is full. ;)

Yes, the fish was previously known as Krobia sp. 'Xingu Orange Spot' but they have now been formally described.

I've been there. But your water is softer and more acidic than mine, so maybe that will be the key. Usually they court and defend a territory for a few days, then the male ends up beating the crap out of her. It's probably the same two fish from this video:

Good luck I hope the finly go through with it. I still have about 25 growouts with no outlet for them. I gave John "TFJ" about 50 but he's not in the vendor forum any more so I don't know what's up with that, I was hoping he would get some out into the hobby.

Pete to answer your question I have them over PFS, water temp is 82 ph is about 6.5 and "soft" last time I checked. If I remove all the fry they breed about once a month.

lol I think you are right. They began to work on a rock last night so I left the tank light on all night, but no eggs in the morning. I guess I'll do frequent large WC with warm water as Tom suggested.

Did they use a rock or a flower pot? I seem to remember it was a flower pot...

They used a broken flower pot the first couple of spawns then on a slate in front of the flower pot then on a rock and in a cave. Seems now they have no shame and just do it where ever they want.

My K. guianensis started by spawning on the outside of flowerpots, now they spawn either inside the flowerpot or on the driftwood in front of it.
