Update on my pair preparing to breed

Here is my old male, he was 9-10" about 6 years old. He was killed when some jags (I thought I had two females) spawned.

After he died I purchased 6 young ones. It looks like I have 4 males and 2 females. Here is one of the males.

I will probably get some more, because I want to have several males and several females. Great thread, I love nics and have kept them for years. It is a fish like the meeki, that I just couldent live without. Sorry for the crap pics.

It looks like you do have 4 males. that largest one on the right is absolutely stunning!
males have the red dots in the fins, the females would already have bright colouration by that size

is this fish really aggressive? i want to buy 4" nic..and put it in a tank with 2" balza and 4" rotkiel. is it safe or ..??

Thought I would bring this thread back from the dead...

After introducing several females to my male, I finally found one he approved of! The past two females he simply just beat on, however the third one (the one he paired with) turned out to be a little firecracker! As you can see from the pic, she's been doing the beating...
