just out of curiosity, what purpose does the insulation serve?? i know what insulation is for but ive never seen it in a tank stand.....

It allows me to sleep at night. Unfortunately my setup isn't the quietest system I have ever heard. I still have a little more sound deadening to do but it is much better than it was. This tank is in my dining room so it needs to be pretty quiet. This room is about 20 feet tall so that allows whatever noise there is to be amplified through out my entire house.

I think it looks great low cel. My only suggestion would be either Dyna mat. Or we use this insulation for acoustics in heating and cooling that deadens sound and its only about 3/4 inch thick. I believe they line speakers with it. Let me know if you are thinking about it I can hook you up with the right companies maybe even get it wholesale for ya.

I hate to get off topic, but I'm having a hard time following the water flow in your plumbing. I love the idea of the spray bar over the scrubbies, but where is it coming from? Is that the drain from the tank? Looks like the drains are pouring into the chamber on the left. I'm confused. Looks great, but I am having a hard time wrapping my head around it.

I have a powerhead in the first chamber that is providing flow to the spray bar over the scrubbies. I was not getting even enough flow over the scrubbies so I added it. I am going to change it though so that the bars go the lengthwise instead of across it. It's a work in progress.

tcarswell, I may take you up on that later. I only have a couple more days to work on the tank before I am off of my feet due to another knee surgery. I'm just doing everything I can to get it in good enough shape to run without me for a few weeks. Water changes are going to be tough enough to handle.

On aside note, I added three light pods this evening. Here is a terrible picture of one of them.

I don't think I have mentioned it but I really like your systems, you do a very nice job on them.

I just purchased a new replacement 36 watt UV for my 210 since mine went bad. I can't wait to get one for my 300. My lfs is selling my old stand from the 210, once they sell it I'm using that money to purchase the UV and pump for it from them.
