Lets see what's in your stand! mechanical photo's

Here is my 75g. Sunsun 304, Eheim Pro 3 2075, 5 lb co2 tank w/diy reactor.

And a pic I snapped on accident, but still looked kinda cool.

Whats your opinion on the "sunsun" filter? Would you refer it to other members as a good product? Are those designed to be a generic version of the Fluval models?

I always paint the underside of my tanks white to look clean. I wish my filters were white like that, it looks awesome! (eyeballing my FX5... hmm, that would look cool in white..)

Zenzzo, home made CO2-reactor.
Without knowing exactly how he build it, it's pretty sure that there's 4 or 5 bio-balls inside.
CO2 comes in at the top by the small clear pvc hose.
Water comes in top and out bottom.
Can't see if he has a venturi-loop build into it.

There's plenty of build threads on it..just search for DIY CO2 reactor.

Cheers..

Yep, that's my co2 reactor. Nothing inside of it except a piece of hard air line tubing, the kind from a UGF lift tube. I drilled a hole in the top bushing, put the air line tubing in to about half way down, and siliconed it in place. Water flow from my sunsun exits the canister, goes into the top of the reactor, flows down while co2 bubbles flow up, making for the best saturation in the water. I should've made the reactor a little longer, as I am still getting some micro bubbles in my tank. But that's ok, I can then see the co2 getting pushed around the tank. The brass piece you see is a check valve.

Slapnutz, longer not necessary, I'd say a couple of bio-balls to break up the bubbles easier..
You'd also keep the bubbles better in the reactor as there would be more of a whirlwind flow around all the bio-ball's 'antenna's', giving the CO2 more time to dissolve and the chance to change direction back up again due to ever changing water flows.

This is a set up i did a few years ago, its a conbination of multiple mechanical and bio filtration on my 220 and 180 gallons. The ocean clear on the rainbow combo its modified, i drill the top of the ocean clear 1" so water goes from the top and not from the side.
