So far everyone has listed pretty much all of what I was thinking... Nicarguense, (spelled wrong...I know) is a beauty of a fish and is peaceful!

All cichlids have a split twin leteral line, go check an angelfish or discus some day and check for yourself.

Watch out with the HRP's. They are indeed supposed to be very calm, although bloodlines, especially since they're archocentrus, could be mixed which can throw a bit of a twist into personality. I'm trying to get rid of my HRP now because its been beating on my geo and my heros pair.

Also, Cichlids are the only fish to have 1 nostril I believe.

They have 1 nostril on each side of the head. I heard thats what characterizes a cichlid.

Uarus , Angels , Discus, most Geos except G.Braziliensis, Apistos , Dwarf Acaras, Rams. Even with these guys though they tend to be rowdy amongst their own kind. Peacefull is a very relative term with any cichlid.

have you ever owned uaru or angels?

Keyhole is the only peaceful fish I've owned. I've seen my multispinosas go lip to lip with geophagus also. I missed the good shot but this was them going at it..

I wouldn't consider nics peaceful either, mine used to fight all the time.

I've never owned angels but have seen my old bosses angels fight at work all the time.
