One tinfoil I assume got a cut from a fake coral decoration which has not healed in couple months but instead grew some. We had to take it out and sanitize the wound:

If you have had a change in pressure with heavy rain, that could be what’s triggered them. Did you notice the weather last time in the 25000g it happened.
Could settle again in a few days

Thank you Dave. We have a rainy season Jun-Nov. Almost every day there is a strong storm, rain, thunder, pressure changes come through. But Aug-Sept are the wettest. We have had very strong storms lately, often more than once a day.

Decades ago, we had a big tank full of the Red-Tailed Tinfoil Barbs. They were so cool. Beautiful. But, our first water change after installing a whole-house water softener (loaded with Iron-Out crystals), I forgot to switch the new softener's bypass valve. Oops! Huge mistake. All our lovely tinfoils went belly up. It was a disaster. I saved a couple of them, mostly by using a hose to force fresh water over the gills. It was the only time I ever gave mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to a fish.
