Hello all.
I've searched throughout this website and others and there seems to be a striking lack of information on mahseers as aquarium fish. I am considering acquiring a Tor putitora, but I can't seem to find anything about their care. All I've been able to turn up has been husbandry information for people who are raising them as food or sport fish.
A few things I've been able to deduce from searches on the internet:
-These fish appear to be able to be kept at tropical temperatures.
-They appear to grow slowly, but exact growth rates are unclear.
-It is likely that they are semi-aggressive...
-...But can be kept with other large, semi-aggressive predators like ATF and datnoids.
-They like oxygenated water with tons of current.
Can anyone point me to a care sheet for these fish or share their personal experience? These seem to be handsome, active predators that have the potential to be an attractive addition to a community of large predators. What I'm after is actual, observable growth rates, conditions people have successfully kept them in and real life observations on behavior.
Thanks all!
