Yeah they can tolerate fresh right through to full marine water.

In the wild they are predominantly found in salt water though. Whether that be brackish in rivers and estuaries, or out in full salt around offshore reefs.
In Aus there would not be too many living in full fresh water.

So that’s why I have gone down the brackish route.

Each to their own though.

Old canister filter was on its way out, so swapped it out for another AC110. Added a Jebao SCP150 wave maker to add some flow that was lost now that I don’t have the spray bar from the canister filter.
Wave maker is turned down very low and is working great. Terry seems to be enjoying it ok, although he has had to change his sleeping area due to the current haha.

Thank you. He is a great fish to keep. Lots of personality and very interested in what’s going on around his tank at all times.
I can’t wait until I receive his new tank at the end of the year. Then I can try and put some proper size on him.

Sorry I’m a bit new to this type of fish. But a 550 gallon tank to “properly grow it out”?! How big do these things get?!

They grow to over 3ft if kept long enough! Should be 2ft by 4-5 years.

A lot of tank for 1 fish, which definitely isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I love it haha.
