I never implied you said that they were common. Others did, and seemed to feel strongly about it.

I think I saw a huge one on youtube, the one about the guy with the 50,000 gallon tank. It looked about 2.5 feet at least and i think it had abit of hole in the head.

By the way is there any evidence that dovii gets to 30inch and umbie gets to 24 inch in the wild.?

If the guy in the hat is in the 5'6"-5'10" range, this fish seems to fit the bill:



Of course, that doesn't mean all fish live long enough to get that large. Predation (especially from landlocked bull sharks in Lago Nicaragua) takes its toll on the large specimens, and some may not be genetically capable of topping the 30" mark.
