Thanks for keeping up with the thread! Window isnt going to be too spectacular lol...only using 4 ss bolts to hold it up, nothing crazy.

Oh. No silicone

Silicone of course...3m5200. I have 6 tubes on the way. Im not too concerned about sealing the window in as this isnt my first rodeo ;), but more concerned of keeping the window suspended in place with bolts as its fairly heavy at 1" thickness. I usually run the glass right on the tank bottom with no bolts, kinda just doing this style of window suspended for fun since i had the acrylic already lol...

And this is your first time to use the 5200 right ?

Yup...theres atleast a dozen or more tanks running with 3m5200 that im not even worried. Its more or less just a gasket anyway. This 1400 is basically my tester tank for the 3k and 3m5200 windows so we'll see what happens.

Drilled and tapped the inner window frame for 5/8"x3" bolts. May need to add 2 more but id like to get away with only using 4. Time to drill the window and skin the front inside with ply.

Skinned the inside leaving a 3/4" surface for the glass to sit on. This also "sinks" the glass into the front wall creating a full surround seal of the sides of the acrylic, not just the front face.
