Micron Filter Bags! keep your water crystal clear!

i use a 100 micron filter pad in my wet-dry, ive never had to clean bio balls in two years and theres still no debris in my bioballs :)

i find that 25 micron is most effective in a pressurized cansiter filter such as ones made by ocean clear and pentair aquatics, since water is forced through the media via powerhead instead of by gravity., extending its life between maintanence.

I agree with your take on the 25 microsna nd pressurized flow. I use it with gravity, so 200 or 400 microns works well for me.

I do not understand what the bioball and their cleaning has to do with it...care to explain, Del?

I've been using 100 and 55 micron bags for awhile now. The nylon bags are great. You can wash them out and use them over and over. I use to use a layer of sponge, with a micron pad in my wet-drys. The bags are much easier, you don't need the sponge at all.

and when you wash them out, ( unlews you wash it with tank water ) you kill everything in the bag and have to restart that bag:)

Which power filter did you install these in? And how did you do so?

Also, is it possible to install these in an xp3 canister? And AC110 power filters?

TIA

Use 50 and 100 micron pads in an Pro3 and XP3. First change after 8 weeks in the Eheim and very little flow drop. Out come... just threw them in the trash as they were black and cut new ones. 30"x36" for $6.99 what the heck:)

i use them on the vats at work. they work great and you can reuse them

you have the bag? or the pad?

if you have a WD all you need to to tie the bag to the output to the WD...

Instead of being the prefilter in the wet/dry wouldn't you want the finest filter it the end of the line? Tie the bag on the input back to the tank from the sump to give it a final polish?
Or how else do you use it?
The pads obviously are being used in the trickle part of the wet/dry or in the last part of the canister.
