LOL! No, I want their deaths to be quick...I hate having to kill unwanted fish (culls and elderly.) The largest most aggresive fish I have right now would not kill them quickly, so I have to do it myself (as quickly and painlessly as possible.) I want a big piscivore to take on this onerous task for me!

Of course. Well my red devil would also give them a slow death. He would basically chase them to death, but an Oscar would eat anything that fits in his mouth

I'm confused why you want to kill the older fish. Just let them live out their days.

After a while (years) some of my fish start acting like they have dementia; and/or show other physical problems. Sometimes they just die, but more often than not they lay on their sides at the surface or the bottom, or start behaving erratically. I'd like a big fish-eating fish so I could quickly and painlessly put the old fish out of his misery. And often spawns have fish with missing fins or abnormal behavior...same deal there.

Maybe an Oscar would be a better choice than a managuense; but I really like the way the managuense look....

I have a single male, 13ins in a 180. He was in a 125 for about a year. I wont claim the 125 was too small, but he looks better in the 180. He lives alone and likes it that way.
