Minimum tank size for managuense (jaguar cichlid)

My 75g is the same or wider than a 125 (18".) It is the same as my 135's, but only 4' long. How active are the managuense? Do they swim all the time?
Took my fella about a week or so to settle in, but he patrols the entire tank, particularly in low light. Predator mode.

I really dont agree with freddy, loiselli, festae, motaguense in a 75 at all. Id personally go smaller than any these. Try salvini, grammode, pikes, firemouth could be a easy Start for you.

Of course they're gonna use the whole tank. A 3" convict will use all of a 180 g. If given the opportunity. I don't agree or disagree with anyone on this particular posting. If you have the tank size and space, good for you. But if you wanna get into big aggressive cichlids, and the money or space isn't there? Then in my opinion a bare minimum 65 to 75 gallon tank in my opinion would work for a solo juvi Jag unt about 10" after that move up to a bigger set up or else sell the Cichlid to someone who can house it properly.

I had a 10" Dovii in a 90. It seemed like a nice size at the time..... I was wrong. I won't make the same mistake again. Big full grown Cichlid of the hyper aggressive nature definately need at least 120 g or larger. I however haven't seen too many Jags getting much larger than 10 to 12".
